Applications Are Open for the Queer Equity Impact Program

Applications are officially open for the Queer Equity Impact Program (QEIP)—a 12-week hybrid business accelerator created to support LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs with the tools, connections, and resources needed to grow and scale their businesses.

The upcoming Spring Cohort runs February 10 through May 12, with applications due by January 30. Participants will receive hands-on support in business plan development, pitch deck creation, and strategic communication, alongside expert guidance and peer collaboration. The program is designed to meet entrepreneurs where they are and help strengthen every aspect of their business.

QEIP focuses on connecting business owners to critical resources, practical technical assistance, and information platforms that drive real growth. Participants will also be eligible for grant opportunities, receive a chamber membership (if not already a member), and gain support in applying for LGBTQ business certification as incentives for completing the program.

This initiative advances a core goal of the NEI Inclusive Small Business Support Fund: supporting businesses that have been historically disconnected from capital, resources, and strategic networks. LGBTQ-owned businesses face unique and compounded barriers—particularly for entrepreneurs with intersecting marginalized identities. QEIP is designed to address these challenges head-on by investing directly in LGBTQ entrepreneurs across Wayne County and connecting them to a strong ecosystem of chamber members, corporate partners, and community organizations.

Graduates of the Queer Equity Impact Program will also help shape the future of other signature programs, including the COLOURS Spring and Fall Business Summits and the COLOURS Pride Awards Gala. In 2026, two QEIP alumni will face off in a live, on-stage pitch competition for a chance to win significant funding for their businesses.
