Last month, we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating the graduation of our 5th Queer Equity Impact Program (QEIP) cohort—and what an unforgettable evening it was. Graduates took the stage to share powerful, inspiring pitches for their businesses, showcasing not only their growth over the past 12 weeks but also their passion, resilience, and vision. It’s safe to say we’re emotionally invested in every single one of them.
The Queer Equity Impact Program is designed to support LGBTQ entrepreneurs through business resource connections, communication strategies, information platforms, and practical technical assistance. Over the course of a rigorous 12-week program, participants dive into all aspects of their business—from strategy and operations to storytelling and scalability—while learning alongside peers and receiving expert guidance.
In addition to sharpening their business foundations, participants have access to grant opportunities, receive a membership to the Chamber (if not already members), and are supported in applying for LGBTQ business certification as incentives for completing the program. These tools are intentionally built into QEIP to help entrepreneurs not just survive, but truly grow and thrive.
Programs like QEIP are a testament to the commitment of the Detroit Regional LGBT Chamber of Commerce to uplifting some of Detroit’s best and brightest entrepreneurs and ensuring LGBTQ-owned businesses have access to the resources, networks, and visibility they deserve.
Applications are now open for the next cohort!
